Chris Ott has tried and won more than three dozen complex federal jury trials throughout the country, including data security matters in the Eastern and Northern Districts of California, media litigation related to the Steele Dossier in the Southern District of Florida, and hacking-derived white collar crimes in the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of New York. Ott has responded to regulatory inquires in NY, CA, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Belgium and Luxembourg. From 2016 through 2018, he was also responsible for USDOJ litigation strategy for state-sponsored hacking prosecutions throughout the United States. In that role, Ott used blockchain evidence in the Internet Research Agency investigation, which was later indicted in relation to Russian election interference.
